Fun in the Sun

Nothing beats a beautiful day at the beach. It might look beautiful in these pics but it was actually pretty chilly. Having flown 1500 miles, I wasn't about to skip out on it though. It was lots of fun anyways. Madilyn and I scouted for seashells to add to her collection. Andrew made "sand angels." Eliza enjoyed the sand and thankfully, didn't eat too much of it. Half of the adults made it in the water and went boggie boarding. (Do they still call it that? I think that means I'm old if I have to ask a question like that.)

Leaving on a Jet Plane

Here we are at the airport, SO excited to be on our way to San Diego.

So, I didn't think they did this anymore. As we were boarding the plane the pilots asked if the kids wanted to check out the cockpit. They even gave up their seats and hat for some cute pictures. The kids loved it!
Notice the sweet, happy baby in her father's arms. A month later, I was flying home after our second trip to California with my mom and three kids while Tim stayed to finish his conference at Stanford. Let me tell you, that sweet, happy child in this picture left me wanting to crawl in the luggage compartment on the second trip. No sleep and just learning to walk are not a good combination for a baby (subsequently-mom) on a three and a half hour flight.

Summer Fun!

So, I'm going to attempt to update everyone on our summer...we'll see how this goes.

Uptown Girl

I'm probably being one of those obnoxious, overly proud parents right now, but Madilyn was the star of her performance!  She did such a great job with her dance.  We are so proud of her!

Here she is in her "sassy" costume.

Styling!

Mommy and Madilyn had a girl's night out to go shopping for her birthday.
This is the dress she picked out-which she loves!  She would wear it everyday if I let her.  While we were out, we also picked up some shades for the summer.  Madilyn picked out the green ones for Andrew.  ("Because green is his favorite color.")
What cute kids!
Compliments of Uncle Jason!

How Does Your Garden Grow?

We had so much fun having a garden party for Madilyn's birthday this year.
Nothing like lots of kids, paint, and sugar to get the party going.
It really was so much fun and it was so neat to see all the different designs each child painted their flower pots.  Madilyn thoroughly enjoyed herself which was the best part.
Happy Birthday cutie!

Spring Break Continued

During spring break we took the kids to Chuck E Cheese.  While we were there Madilyn spent the majority of her tokens on a game where you try to hit a button at just the right moment so the rotating lights will stop on a prize.  She won three bags of cotton candy in the process but she really wanted to hit the Jackpot (100 tickets).  The sweet thing showed Andrew how to play...
and when he randomly smacked the stop button quess who won the jackpot!
Madilyn very graciously was so excited for him.
(Maybe because she knows that I pool all their tickets together and then divide them between the two of them.  This way she gets better junk from the prize counter.)
Papa Ron kindly sat on baby duty while we all played.
As far as the rest of spring break went, we took the kids to a kid's "museum" (kind of a disappointment) in town.  Forgot the camera but that's ok because they mainly hung out on the jungle gym of the museum and then were ready to leave after an hour.  I think they would have been just as happy at a McDonald's playland.

Mamu and I snuck out to the antique shops on Main St. and enjoyed some girl time while Papa Ron and Tim watched the kids.

Went to the park and ate out often so cooking duties were light.

Thanks Mamu and Pops for a fun spring break.
